New song ... "The Love of Money" (aka "The Love of Money is the Root of All Kinds of Evil")

This is a bit of a protest song and a bit of a social commentary. Since ancient times, humans have managed to fight over such things as land, money, status, power; the Good Book quotes Jesus as stating: "The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil."

Amen, brother! So: This is a message directed towards today's cryptocurrency prophets and the "prosperity-gospel" preachers. And perhaps billionaire and trillionaire class that seem to want to keep hoarding their wealth, pay less tax, and don't seem to have any empathy for the working class and poor folks. I wrote this song (lyrics and melody) a few years ago, "dusted it off" recently, played it in a cafe, then "tuned it up". No, this is not my voice* on this song - but it is my song, and I really wanted to get this message out: It's somewhat cathartic for me. It's an emotional release for me, every single time I sing this live, either by myself or with the band. There is far, far too much power and wealth in the hands of a select few and history tells us - current headlines tell us - that most of these multi-millionaires and billionaires cannot be trusted, sadly. Extremely wealthy folks are treated much differently by the courts than the poor. Kindness and love ... there needs to be more kindness and love expressed and acted out in this world. All men and women are created equal and this truth is self-evident. None of us shall lord it over another brother or sister. No one is anyone else's slave. Freedom! Peace and Love, brothers and sisters!
